A few years ago, one of us watched a documentary about salt.
Salt built empires. Salt started wars. Salt paid Roman soldiers — that is where the word salary comes from.
It was history. But it felt like a story. And that question would not go away: what if English learners could feel that?
That is how HitoCast began.
Who we are
HitoCast is a small research team. We study the history of things that shaped the world — food, inventions, people, empires — and retell those stories in simple English for learners at A2 to B2 level.
